The music launch of 'Happy New Year' promised to be an extravaganza of gigantic proportions and it certainly was!

Before the show began, director Farah Khan put up a picture of the grand set for the music launch.
So music launch of #HNY today n my throat is gone!!! Luckily I'm not singing there!! pic.twitter.com/AxD968jajx
Neeti Mohan flagged off the event with a soulful rendition of 'Manwa Laage'. The singer looked gorgeous in a pink crop top and embellished skirt. She was accompanied by the Shillong Chamber Choir.
Sukhwinder Singh followed with a peppy number called 'Satakli' that instantly gave us a sense of 'Singham Returns' deja vu (forgive us, Shah Rukh).
After this, the teaser of the song 'Lovely' was released. Deepika Padukone wowed us with her sultry moves in the teaser, but alas we're going to have to wait a bit longer until the full video is released.
Partly fulfilling our needs for more were singer Kanika Kapoor and rapper Dr Zeus, who performed the song 'Lovely' for the crowd.
It was finally time for the real act, and out came Abhishek Bachchan, followed by Shah Rukh Khan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Deepika Padukone to shake a leg to 'India Waale'.
The gentlemen were outfitted in matching jackets that were bling-y as they come, while Deepika Padukone went the demure route with a nude-coloured net sari and a sparkly high-collared and long sleeved blouse.
Sticking out like a bit of a sore thumb was London iPad magician Keelan Leyser who performed parlour magic tricks!
Mercifully, his act was short and was followed by the arrival of Farah Khan, who was at her witty best. She welcomed her film's star cast back on stage and they were also joined by the music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar, lyricist Irshad Kamil, singers Sunidhi Chauhan & Neeti Mohan and T-Series head Bhushan Kumar.
It was also super to see Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan together again. The duo had famously fallen out during the making of 'Tees Maar Khan' and the scuffle between Farah's husband Shirish and SRK, but it looks like they're back to being thick as thieves.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah, 'Happy New Year' is the story of a bunch of misfits who come together to carry out a heist and pretend to be dancers in a competition to throw the authorities off their scent.
The film is scheduled to release this Diwali (October 24).
