The longest running film in the history of Indian Cinema, Aditya Chopra’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, currently running in its 986th week, will complete 1000 historical weeks and 7000 days at the Maratha Mandir in Mumbai on December 18 this year.
About a year ago, a source at the theatre informed us that they had no plans of discontinuing the screening of the film We have no plans of discontinuing the screening of DDLJ. It will run for 1000 weeks and more”

One matinee show screened at 11:30AM is running to packed houses at the Maratha Mandir since October 20 1995
It will be interesting to see if Yash Raj Films has a grand celebration planned on the day the film completes 1000 successful weeks.
Starring Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal and Anupam Kher, DDLJ marked the directorial debut of Aditya Chopra. The film, produced by the late Yash Chopra, went on to be one of the biggest grossers in the history of Indian Cinema, collecting Rs 122 crore (gross) worldwide.
